Types of Attacks Prevented
Private Key Compromises

Private keys are the keys to your kingdom. Whoever has access to them can move your assets at will. Private keys can be compromised in multiple ways from iCloud hacks to being revealed through compromised devices if stored digitally. GateKeep protects your assets from theft in the event your private key is compromised.
Phishing
Hackers love this method because they can execute at a large scale. They act as trusted services or companies sending fake emails that mimic legitimate ones. A lot of times people do not think twice before clicking these link and submitting their information.

Protocol, dApp, & Marketplace Hacks

Over the couple years we've seen this method contribute the largest to Crypto theft. Hackers hijack well known companies websites. Users interact normally and don't realize the subtle changes that lead to their assets being stolen. It's nearly impossible to differentiate the compromised site from the original one for the average user.
Fake Sites
Hackers clone well known websites but change the functionality to steal funds. Spreading this method has become common through twitter. Bots mass spam users and people fall for it. If they weren't profiting the hackers wouldn't spend so much in resources to continue pushing these scams.

Accidental Transfers
Mistakes happen. You'll copy the wrong address or mistype it eventually. Sending assets to the incorrect address is horrible because often there's no way to get in contact with wallets owner and no guarantee they'll return what was sent. Gatekeeps "Trusted Network" prevents this from ever happening.
